The marking process was carried out in five locations: Lagos, Ibadan, Benin, Enugu, and Kaduna—between January 15 and February 4, 2025, with 3,327 examiners involved.

Number of Candidates and Performance

• A total of 68,342 candidates registered, while 65,023 sat for the exam across 5,067 centers nationwide.
• 157 candidates with special needs participated, including those with visual and hearing impairments.
• The number of male and female candidates was 31,504 (48.45%) and 33,519 (51.55%), respectively.

Results Breakdown

• 62,354 candidates (95.9%) have their results fully processed and released.
• 2,669 candidates (4.1%) are still awaiting full processing due to minor errors.
• 43,923 candidates (67.55%) scored credits in at least five subjects (with or without English and Mathematics).
• 34,878 candidates (53.64%) passed with credits in at least five subjects, including English and Mathematics.
• The overall performance increased by 9.35% compared to previous years (2022 & 2023).

Exam Malpractice Cases

WAEC has withheld 2,577 results (3.96%) due to suspected examination malpractice. Affected candidates can visit the WAEC Malpractice Portal (https://waecinternational.org/complaints) to submit their appeals before the council makes a final decision.
