The eight-month-old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities has been called off.
The decision was made at the conclusion of the National Executive Council meeting, which was held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja, our correspondent learned, however the union has not yet made an official announcement.
A knowledgeable source within the NEC confirmed the cancellation to our correspondent, “Yes, it has been called off.”
The insider responded that “the president will make an official circular in the morning” when pressed for more information.
The academic union reportedly went on strike on Monday, February 14, 2022.
