Promise Joshua, biography, Pictures & instagram
I am Joshua (father of the young and famous Joshua), the great philanthropist and televangelist.
I have a daughter, named Promise. She is a very gifted girl, who loves to sing and dance. I would like her to be an inspirational and motivating person — an ambassador for good in this world.
I want her to give a message of positivity; that life is better than it was before Promise was born …
It’s not just our aim to help people achieve their dreams, but I want my daughter to inspire others: inspire them with her own dream. I want my little Promise to be one of the many voices that can help change the world!
How Joshua (TB Joshua) Passed on his Power to his Daughter – Promise Joshua
TB Joshua was a charismatic and controversial figure in the evangelical community, known for his “shout” during sermons, for his “fear” of AIDS victims, and his recent decision to step down as pastor after admitting to an affair (which he later claimed was not sexual in nature).
In 2009, Joshua made some very public (and very public-spirited) decisions: he donated $1 million to the AIDS charity PATH; he closed TB Joshua Ministries; and TB Joshua announced that he had passed on his power to his daughter.
In this post on Medium, I wrote about my relationship with TB Joshua and how I used the story of him passing on his power to me as a springboard for asking hard questions about what happens when you pass on your power. I also talked about how that story played out in my life — but it also played out in my work (and its uncertain future), so it is a topic that has been percolating at least since 2014.
Once I realized that TB Joshua’s passing on power had a great deal more in common with mine than I initially believed, it became clear that there was an obvious way to use this episode as a springboard for asking hard questions about the future of my work: getting a childlike perspective on what happens when you pass on your power.
I have always felt quite different from Josh. When we got married, some people said we were destined for one another because we each bring something different to our marriage — but Josh was always so all-encompassing and controlling; while I could see myself achieving goals by just going with them and following them through (even if they weren’t necessarily practical or realistic), Josh taught us both how to save ourselves from ourselves.
He taught us how to think like animals — not humans. And when I look back at those early days of our marriage, it is obvious that TB Joshua taught me much more than he ever could have taught me by himself.

But because Josh is such an all-encompassing presence in our lives now — even more so than before he passed away — I want people who read this post who love TB Joshua (or are interested in pursuing their own relationship with him) to feel comfortable using this as inspiration for asking tough questions about their own relationships with their family members who may be stepping down from leadership positions.
What follows are three examples of people who are stepping down from leadership positions
Promise Joshua father Joshua’s (TB Joshua) Death
TB Joshua was, and still is, one of the most well-known names in the world of religious television. He had a brother named Joshua who was known to have been a part of the group called The Joshua Group.
Joshua’s death has struck a chord with many people, and created a new opportunity for TB Joshua: he hopes to “leave some legacy behind” by sharing his story and image on social media.
TB Joshua is taking over Instagram as his personal Facebook page has become more popular than his official Facebook page. He also announced that he will be creating a new website (proudly named #JoshuaInstagram) which will allow fans to share their experiences with him on Instagram. The website is set to launch in about three weeks time so if you want to follow TB Joshua on Twitter, you can follow him there too; or you can follow him here on Instagram.
One thing I would like to take issue with (besides TB Joshua’s decision to continue using Instagram for personal use) is the fact that TB Joshua makes money from it in any way whatsoever: he does not charge for his picture, nor does he make any money from followers sharing them or subscribing to his newsletter. As such, I wonder where TB Joshua gets all of his funding? Is it all altruistic?
Joshua’s (TB Joshua) Legacy
Joshua was a charismatic televangelist and philanthropist, who is credited with founding the TB Joshua Foundation. He had a troubled upbringing and an abusive marriage. He was also convicted of killing his wife three years before his death, although this was later overturned on appeal.
