Stigmatization of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA).
Stigmatization refers to the term used to describe the unfairly way some people treat and relate with people living with HIV/AIDS. The society should be made to understand that AIDS is neither a moral issue nor a crime but essentially a public health problem. As a result, people living with HIV/AIDS should not be marginalised or stigmatised for any reason. They should enjoy the same fundamental human rights as any other person. So if we are ready to help HIV/AIDS infected people, the society must desist from such negative and bad attitude. Contrary to earlier misconception held by the society against HIV/AIDS infected persons. It has been confirmed by medical practitioners and public health educators that we can eat, drink, shake hands, play and sleep with HIV/AIDS infected persons in the same bed without being infected.
